Day 01, Tehran:
Arrive at Tehran Airport, greetings & transfer to Howeyzeh Hotel
Day 02, Tehran - Firuzkuh - Zir Ab - Lajim - Sari:
Drive until closely before Firuzkuh and continue about 10 km northwest
via Jelisjand to Tang-e Vashi, walk through water of gorge to next valley
passing by Qajar hunting relief and return. Continue via Firuzkuh to Zir
Ab, from there excursion in wooded Elburs mountains to Lajim (Sharyari
tomb tower of 1023 AD). If the Tang-e Vashi crossing was not possible
because of too much water, make 2-3 hours hike in Caspian forests of Lajim
area. From there return to Zir Ab and continue to Sari
Day 03, Sari - Gorgon - Khosh Yeilagh:
Drive via Gorgon to Gonbad-e Qabus, visit tallest and oldest tomb tower
from 1006 AD in Iran, continue to Khosh Yelagh National Park for 3 hours
trekking, O/N in Tent
Day 04, Khosh Yelaq - Bastam - Jandaq:
Drive to Bastam, visit Sufi Sheikh Bayazid sanctuary, continue via Shahrud
alongside colourful eroded mountains to Torud, partly on desert tracks
and continue via Moalleman to Jandaq at center of Dasht-e Kavir desert,
O/N in Tent
Day 05, Jandaq - Chupanan - Nain - Isfahan:
Drive alongside sand dune area to Chupanan, view this typical desert town
with many wind towers, continue via Anarak to Nain, watch carpet manufacturing
and visit traditional Pirnia House (Jame Mosque is optional), drive on
to Isfahan, Espadana or Azadi-Hotel
Day 06, Isfahan:
Full day city tour in Isfahan, visit Imam & Sheikh Lotfollah Mosques,
Ali Qapu, in the afternoon stroll in Bazaar. Evening at old bridges in
Isfahan & teahouse. Espadana or Azadi Hotel
Day 07, Isfahan - Abyaneh:
In the morning visit Jame Mosque & the Fruit Market. At noon drive
to Natanz, visit Jame Mosque, ruin of near Fire Temple and Ceramics Workshop,
continue to the picturesque mountain village of Abyaneh, O/N in local
houses
Day 08, Abyaneh - Kashan - Tehran:
Drive to Kashan, visit Borujerdi House and Fin Garden, continue to Qom
and view Fatimeh Masoumeh Sanctuary from outside, visit Khomeini Mausoleum
on the way to Tehran, Howeyzeh Hotel
Day 09, Qazwin - Alamut Valley - Qazvin:
Drive via Qazvin to Alamut valley, visit ruins of Hasan Sabah castle during
3 hours hike. Picknick at Iwan lake and return to Qazvin, short city tour
with old caravanserais at bazaar and Shahzadeh Hosein sanctuary in the
evening, Alborz Hotel
Day 10, Soltaniyeh - Katalehkhor Cave - Bijar -
Takab:
Start early morning and drive to Soltaniyeh, make short visit of Oljeitu
Mausoleum with its upper outside galleries with beautiful brick decorations.
Continue to very impressive Katalehkhor caves with stalagmites/stalactites,
from there via Bijar to Takab, Ranji Hotel,
Day 11, Takab - Kerefto - Qainardjeh
Drive to Kerefto caves which were supposedly used in Parthian times for
oracles with Herakles inscription, back via Takab to mountain village
of Qizkapan passing crater with greenish water, then to the village of
Qainarjeh, O/N in Tent
Day 12, Takht-e Soleiman - Berenjeh - Dandy - Zanjan
- Tehran
Drive to the impressive Sassanian firetemple of Takht-e Soleiman and see
Zendan-e Soleiman crater hill formed by artesian deposits. Drive to Berenjeh
and hike 2-3 hours in the area of artesian hills and see large crater.
If the road to Berenjeh is not passable for normal car which it should
by now, hike 2-3 hours in Takht-e Soleiman area. Continue through colourful
mauntain scenery via Kapaz, Dandy to Zanjan and return to Tehran, Howeyzeh
Hotel
Day 13, Tehran:
City tour of Tehran with Archaeological Museum, Islamic Museum, bazaar
and Sahebgharanieh palace in Niavaran complex, in the evening farewell
dinner at traditional restaurant, Howeyzeh Hotel
Day 14, Tehran:
Transfer to the International Airport for departure flight
