All foreign tourists must have a visa approved prior to arriving in the kingdom of Bhutan. A two week visa costs 20 US Dollar. All visa applications must reach Bhutan atleast 3 weeks prior to the tourists intented arrival date. Yarkay Tours & Treks can apply for visa on behalf of its clients. Full passport details must be mailed, faxed to YTT in order to process visas with immigration authorities. YTT will also advise all its clients of their visa status before their intended departure date. Yarkay can apply for an extension of tourist visa, should a visitor wish to remain in Bhutan for a longer duration than stipulated. Tourists must bring 3 passport size photographs of their own as these will be required by the immigration authorities at the entry points.

For all travelers entering Bhutan by Druk Air, the visa clearance number is forwarded to concerned overseas Druk Air stations and without clearance number passenger are not allowed to board the flight. Visa clearance is also required while issuing for Druk Air tickets. For travelers entering into country by surface through Phuentsholing, the visa is stamped at Bhutan Foreign Ministry's branch office in Phuentsholing. For all FITs / GITs travelling during festivals, visa particulars must be send atleast 8 weeks in advance.
